Radiotherapy

Radiotherapy uses high energy x-rays to treat cancer and is used to treat a specific part of the body.

As with chemotherapy, radiotherapy affects healthy cells also and can cause hair loss. Unlike chemotherapy, hair loss only applies to areas which receive radiotherapy.

If you are having treatment to a specific part of your head , your hair will fall out from that area.

Hair may take 6 months or more to grow back following radiotherapy. It may be a little patchy when it grows back for a time.
