I have been a hair stylist for over 25 years and I love making clients feel good about themselves and making their hair look amazing.
In recent times I am becoming increasingly aware that at times in our life, this may not always be possible. Due to illness, stress, lifestyle and medication, people can find that their hair changes profoundly and unfortunately not always for the better. This can have a severe impact on our mental health and well being. It can affect males, females, young and old alike. After all our hair is our crowning glory. It is the one accessory which we never take off.
It is one of the first things people notice about you.So can it come as any surprise that when people notice thinning, receding or bald areas in their hair, that they immediately want help, education and advice on the options open to them. This is where I come in.I can offer support and a wealth of knowledge to you. I can help you choose your new hair, safe in the knowledge that it will make you feel on top of the world again.
I understand that this can be a very distressing time, whether you have been told that you will need chemotherapy and will lose your hair or you are coming to terms with an alopecia diagnosis. It can make you feel lost and vulnerable. My aim is to offer you a completely private and discreet service, allowing you and a friend the space to make this a most enjoyable experience for you.
I offer a bespoke service which provides a specialised system to each individual client. In my opinion, no two clients are the same, that is why I offer a wide selection of wigs and hairpieces.
They range from synthetic, fibre and human hair on a variety of bases. The bases vary depending on how they are made and what they are made of, which can
determine how breathable and comfortable they are to wear.
I also stock top pieces which are very effective for thinning hair and I supply T partings made in human hair which can be clipped or taped into the hair to allow you to go about life
without any worries such as swimming and showering. These can be heat styled and be
treated exactly the same as your own hair and no one but you will know about it.
On the initial visit you will be measured for your hairpiece and a full consultation will be carried out to establish what you want from your hairpiece.
By that I mean, Do you want to wear it every day? Do you want to be able to style it in different ways? OR Do you only envisage wearing it when you are out and about ?
I also have a L’Oreal Colour Specialist Degree and once we have agreed on a style, we will choose the colour based on either, having it as close to your own natural colour as possible, or trying out a new colour altogether.
We stock a large and varied selection but if I feel we need to order a more specific piece for you, we will have that in less than a week.
At this point any customisation can be done for you i.e, removing weight, shortening or
feathering the fringe to make it just perfect for you.
This will be your hairpiece, crafted just for you. I will talk you through caring for your hairpiece, giving you practical advice on how to keep it clean and fresh.
I can help you establish whether or not you are entitled to a HSE grant or if you are covered with private medical insurance.
